Mantrac Nigeria responds to increased interest in gas-fuelled solutions with the delivery of the first gas genset in the Northern region of Nigeria (Kano) for valued customer, Mafa Rice Mill Limited.

Mafa Rice Mill Limited has been using CAT diesel gensets for the past couple of years, but discussions to convert to a gas engine have been ongoing since early this year. With great dedication and teamwork, the Mantrac Nigeria sales team successfully concluded the deal for phase one for the delivery of a 2MW CAT CG170-20 gas genset. Phase two will see another two gas units be delivered to complete Mafa Rice Mill’s gas power plant, giving it a total capacity of 6MW.

This deal marks part of Nigeria’s initiative to adopt more gas-powered solutions and the rise in demand in the northern region of the country for the adaption of LNG systems in remote places like Kano which are not connected to a gas pipeline.

Seeing the opportunity, more and more businesses are looking to own Cat gas products to add value and enhance their operation cost whilst competing in the market.

Once all units have been delivered, Mafa Rice Mill will be the first owner of a complete Caterpillar gas and diesel power plant in the Northern Region of Kano.

All support appreciated from COE for the arrangement of stock units and fast delivery to get the deal sealed. Special thanks to Tajudeen Bello Olakunle Popoola, Ahmed Mohsen, Jason Lambe, Ahmed Ragab, Ahmed Aly Elsayed, Islam Tag El Din, and Ayman Ezz El Din. Well done team!
