Overcoming all logistical challenges to meet customer needs

Mantrac engineers and project managers worked together to overcome challenges and successfully execute a power solution at the Rumaila Oil Field in Iraq. A Cat® 3616 diesel genset was identified as the ideal power solution and imported from the USA. This genset had to be enclosed in a compartment with three non-standard dimensions. The compartment would also need to nine other components from 5 other countries. The radiators (Spain), Air Start System (France) and Miffler (UK) were imported to Belgium and then consolidated. This consolidated component was then brought to Egypt along with Electric Panels (Germany).

To ensure that all the components fit along with the genset in the specified enclosure, the Mantrac team in Alexandria, Egypt, assembled all the components along with a fuel tank, fire fighting system, vibration system and vent fans. The solution was successfully assembled and tested. It was then disassembled for shipping to the site in Iraq. Once it arrived, assembly and start up of the solution took only two weeks.
